A short service every Thursday evening during Lent at 7.30 pm in the Church.
We will also be inviting people to participate in a Lenten initiative called Jars4Journeys coordinated by the Church of Ireland Bishops’ Appeal, Eco Congregation Ireland and the Representative Church Body.
The idea is that we use a jam jar or recyclable container and, anytime we take a journey by car we could have taken by bicycle or on foot, we make a contribution to the jar.
The money raised will be used to support projects in countries severely affected by the consequences of climate change. It will support conservation projects in Bolivia, Ethiopia and Kenya and perhaps help to make us aware of our carbon footprint, the consequences of our decisions and actions upon less resilient communities around the world.
Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, 14th February. There will be a celebration of Holy Communion and Prayers for the Sick at 10.30 am.
The first Thursday Service will be 15th February.
