In light of recent unrest, we continue to pray over the situation in Belfast and other communities and ask for blessing and peace to be visited upon our streets.

  • Pray for people from migrant communities, many of whom are scared and uncertain. They fear for their safety and the safety of their families.
  • Pray for the families that have had to leave their homes, that they would feel God’s protection and peace.
  • Some are missing important medical appointments because of this unrest – chemotherapy, pregnancy support etc. Pray for their protection and comfort.
  • Pray for the emergency services that are stretched and struggling; for protection and wisdom.
  • Pray for those involved in the violence that they would stop, that God would move, that he would stay their hand. That they would encounter him.
  • Pray for all those offering support. This feels very heavy. Pray that God would guide, protect and give wisdom as people look to care and speak to this.
  • Pray for our politicians that they would work wisely and in unity to help put an end to the unnecessary violence and destruction. Pray that they would work for all people.
  • Pray for Stephen Ogilvie, the victim of the attack, for his healing and for his family.
  • Pray for his attacker, that he would meet Jesus and experience God’s grace.

With thanks to Tim Burns, leader of The Suitcase Project.
